Martin John Minue age 79 of Huntington Beach California passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on April 4, 2018. Martin was born on January 24, 1939 in Plainfield New Jersey. He was the oldest son of John Minue and Vera Cezo-Minue. Martin served in the National Guard after high school and then joined the Army where he was part of the 82nd Airborne. After being discharged from the Army, Martin moved to California, got married to Mary Jane Conklin, had two daughters and began a career with the Los Angeles Police Department. Martin served as an officer with the LAPD for 27 years and also served in the Coast Guard Reserve for 18 years. Martin Minue was a hard- working, patriotic man of service. Martin loved scuba diving, guns, motorcycles, sailboats, junk food, family and practical jokes.
Martin is survived by his younger brother Carl Minue, sister in law Joanne Minue, his niece Nicole and great niece Christina. He also leaves his children Jenine Minue and Lisa Minue-Wheeler, son in law Mark Wheeler and grandchildren Jacklyn, Megan, Kelsea and Gabriella whom he helped raise in his home in Huntington Beach. Martin was kind hearted, generous, and dedicated to his family and his career.
