Michael W. Kovacs Jr., 78, of Carteret, died on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. He was born in Carteret and was a life-long resident. He retired from Co-Steel Raritan of Perth Amboy as a Line Supervisor. Michael was a member of the Hungarian Reformed Church of Carteret and was Chief Elder. He was a member of the Theodore Roosevelt Masonic Lodge 219 Carteret and the Carteret Community Senior- Afternoon Group.
Michael is predeceased by his two sisters, Helen Hansen and Ann Rotili. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy nee Amundson Kovacs; his two sons, Michael W. Kovacs III and his wife, Hyacinth and William Kovacs and his wife, Michelle; his daughter, Marlee Kovacs; his five grandchildren, Dr. Hilary McKinley, Michael W. Kovacs IV, Myles Kovacs, Hailey Kovacs and Emma Kovacs; and his sister, Mary Iszo.
The Funeral Service will be on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11 AM at the Hungarian Reformed Church, 175 Pershing Avenue in Carteret. The visiting hours will be on Friday, from 4 PM to 7 PM at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue in Carteret. Private Cremation will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hungarian Reformed Church would be appreciated.
