Hey Mates -- thanks for checking back at "The Blog." At this point we are awaiting your replies to the Email sent out concerning the Brunch. In case you missed the Email, here's what was said:
Just before Don Zazworsky passed away, he met with Reunion Committee members to discuss a possible "mini-reunion BEFORE our 55th. He had heard from a number of classmates interested in this and joked that we better do something since were not getting any younger. We agreed to explore the matter and meet again soon. Without warning or time for goodbyes, our beloved Zin-Zin died before we held that next meeting. To those of us on the Committee, it was a tragic reminder of the importance of living for the moment lest tomorrow never comes.
We have now started planning for a casual, informal class brunch to be held in the latter part of June or possibly July. It would likely be held on a weekday within a private section of a local area diner -- depending upon the number expected to attend. We want to keep the cost under $15. Our aim is not gourmet dining but providing an atmosphere where we can relax, BS about the good old days and catch up on what's been happening in our lives.
We recognize that this short notice, as well travel distance will preclude many from attending. It's our goal, however, to hold more of these events of a regular basis if all goes well. Hopefully, in time, more and more classmates can eventually plan to attend. If you are interested in attending our Brunch, please get back to me or a Committee member ASAP. As soon as we determine the level of interest, we will make the necessary arrangements and announce details on The Blog.
While visiting The Blog, you can also checkout my latest creation -- a short video made from soneone's old 1958 home movies of a parade in Carteret. Although it focuses on CHS kids a year after we departed, it captures the flavor of our home town during the 50's and those events that we so much enjoyed. It's a little blurry but you may recognize some of the people and places. If you're good, you may even be able to spot "Mary Choban."
