Once again I must regretfully inform you of the death of yet another classmate. It has come to our attention that Elizabeth Sloan passed away on or about December 28, 2006. Information from Betty's son/in/law, James Saloczy, who is a General Manager at the Carteret Holiday Inn, indicates the she died suddenly and unexpectedly of a heart attack several days after a Christmas visit with her family. We have no further details at this time. UPDATE (6/28/07) --- The following is taken from an obituary published in the Manalapan (NJ) News Transcript for Elizabeth Sloan McHugh -- "Mrs. McHugh, 67, of Whiting, Manchester Township, died Dec. 29, 2006, at home. Born in Elizabeth, she had lived in Manalapan for 25 years before moving to Whiting a year ago. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Englishtown. Mrs. McHugh was predeceased four months ago by her husband, John. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lorraine and Frank Romano of Manalapan, and Darlene and James Szaloczy of Marlboro; and three grandchildren, James, Frank and Alyssa. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements."
